Sharp Unveils Cutting-Edge Full Black PV Panel with Additional Watt Boost - 21/2/2024
Hamburg, 20th of February 2024  Sharp has unveiled the latest addition to its half-cut cell portfolio, the all-black NU-JC425B, which is a 425W n-Type TOPCon monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic panel. The panel features a black backsheet and frame, and is ideal for both long and short frame side clamping. It is designed for residential, small-scale commercial, and industrial rooftop installations and combines aesthetics with high performance.

High power output
The NU-JC425B boasts an efficiency of 21.76%. Its excellent low temperature coefficient of -0.30%/°C enhances its performance significantly at elevated ambient temperatures, which is an increasingly vital feature because of the impact of climate change and the resulting temperature increases.

High product reliability
The new module is built with M10 wafer (182 mm) half-cells. Utilising round ribbons in the 16-busbar technology enhances power gain for each cell, reduces susceptibility to microcracks and results in improved module reliability.

Every Sharp half-cell module comes with three compact junction boxes, each incorporating a bypass diode. This design decision minimises heat transfer to the cells above, thereby improving panel durability and enhancing the overall performance of the system.

The panel comes with the authentic MC4 connector, making it compatible with the majority of mainstream optimisers, inverters, and mounting systems.

The panel's safety, quality, and durability have been recognised in the award of IEC seals (IEC61215 and IEC61730). It has undergone rigorous testing to comply with international standards and withstand extreme conditions, successfully passing tests for ammonia, salt mist, sand, and PID resistance. The panel also passed the rigorous EN13501 ‘reaction to fire’ test, thus demonstrating its exceptional safety and reliability. In addition, the NU-JC425B has successfully undergone an extended hail test with 40 mm hail size, which was conducted by TÜV Rheinland.

Easy to handle
With measurements of 1722 x 1134 mm and a slim 30 mm frame height, the NU-JC425B weighs in at 20.7 kg. These specifications make it an ideal choice for straightforward installation in residential, small-scale commercial, and industrial rooftop systems with seamless system integration. The panel's adaptability to various mounting methods, including short and long frame side clamping, screwing, and sliding, allows for flexible assembly, which leads to reduced balance of system and capital expenditure costs.

The NU-JC425B is covered by Sharp’s 25-year EU end user product guarantee and 30-year linear power output guarantee, with a minimum of 87.5% in year 30.

Andrew Lee, Sales Director at EMEA SHARP Energy Solutions Europe, explains: “The introduction of the new NU-JC425B panel with increased Wattage, a black frame and a black backsheet expands our product portfolio in order to offer a module specifically crafted for convenient handling and installation in residential and small-scale commercial & industrial rooftop setups that also meets the aesthetic preferences of many customers. We are delighted to point out that, in addition to successfully passing the EN13501 'reaction to fire' test, our solar panel also holds MCS certification.”
