Abu Dhabi is proudly hosting the 12th edition of the World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC) www.weec2024.org, for the first time in the Middle East, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafrah region of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi.
The event will be held from January 29- to February 02, 2024 at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi, under the theme "Connecting People, Creating Tomorrow".
To reiterate the importance of empowering young generations to become advocates and ambassadors for the environment, the Youth Environmental Education Conference will be running parallel to the Congress.
With UAE's commitment placing "environment" high up on the national agenda, the 12th WEEC platform will offer significant direction to Environment Education (EE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) fraternity to address the Triple Planetary Crisis of Climate Change, Nature and Biodiversity loss, and Pollution and Waste and other environmental issues that are multi-dimensional and interrelated.
3000 delegates are expected to attend, that includes 200 speakers as part of our programme in different sessions such as the plenaries, keynotes and panel discussions.
