Over 11,000 benefit from DHA’s training programmes 3/9/2013
The Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) medical education department organised 393 training programmes during the first half of 2013 and more than 11,000 employees benefitted from these programmes, said a top DHA official.
 
“The training courses include workshops and conferences in the field of medicine, administration and information technology. It took 1,696 hours of training to complete these courses, all of which are accredited and add value to the job skills of DHA employees,” said Dr Khalil Ibrahim, director of medical education.
 
Ibrahim said that compared to the same period in 2012, there has been an increase of 54 per cent in the number of courses conducted, 55 per cent in the number of training hours and 74 per cent increase in the number of participants.
 
He provided a break-up of the type of programmes and said 2,949 employees took part in the life-saver course which provides Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training and teaches participants other life-saving skills in times of emergency.
