As part of the Power Breakfast series organized by EDAMA, to debate climate and environmental challenges in Jordan, Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED) Secretary General, Najib Saab, participated yesterday in a panel discussion in Amman on expectations from COP 27.
Also participating in the panel was Jordanian Minister of Environment Dr Muawieh Radaideh, who explained Jordan’s ambitious plans to reduce carbon emissions, mainly in transport, energy, water, agriculture and tourism sectors.
Saab stressed the need to focus on adequate public policies that attract private climate investments, rather than bits and pieces of scattered isolated initiatives, as this is the only way to bridge the financing gap triggered by Covid-19 and Ukraine war.
The event was moderated by EDAMA Chairman Dr Duraid Mahasneh.
