H.E. Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, inaugurated the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative’s 14th Global Roundtable event and announced the Dubai Declaration of financial institutions based in the UAE on sustainable finance. The event was hosted by the United Arab Emirates, represented by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and in collaboration with the UAE’s Central Bank on 25-26 October 2016 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

 

Eight UAE-based financial institutions have committed to the Declaration and senior representatives were present at the announcement at the Roundtable.

 

The agreement is in line with the UAE’s Vision 2021, a set of national targets to be achieved by the country’s 50th anniversary, and part of a drive towards implementing green and sustainable finance. Click here to read the press release, download the Dubai Declaration here.
