A report issued by Masdar highlights the most prominent sustainability contributions that the emirate of Abu Dhabi is trying to achieve in key sectors.
The report points out that Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 was launched with the aim of achieving a diverse economy and building a comprehensive capital that enjoys an advanced and sustainable infrastructure, allowing Emiratis and expatriates to enjoy a lifestyle in which the highest level of services is provided in various fields, particularly in the field of education, transportation, health care, energy and more.
A key characteristic in Abu Dhabi’s journey to achieve sustainability is the keenness of institutions in the public and private sectors to take steps towards achieving sustainability and creatively inspiring the community to adopt an approach that contributes to safeguarding natural resources and preserving them for future generations.
The report highlights the efforts exerted by Masdar, such as hosting Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW). Under the umbrella of ADSW, a number of important conferences are organized, such as the World Future Energy Summit and Global Water Summit, which proved to be excellent platforms for cooperation and the forging of partnerships.
The in-depth report also sheds light on the efforts exerted by various authorities, such as the emirate’s Urban Planning Council, Food Control Authority and Environment Agency, to achieve the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
The emirate witnessed prominent changes during the past decades as part of the framework for economic, social and cultural development, in line with the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership, which aims to advance the status of Abu Dhabi and make it among the leading and advanced contemporary cities in various fields.
