New Sharjah recycling centers announced 21/7/2015
The Sharjah Environment Company will open two waste recycling facilities in the near future with the goal of making Sharjah the first Arab city to recycle 100 per cent of its waste.

Khaled Al Huraimel, the chief executive of SEC, said one plant will recycle plastic and the other cardboard. He added that the initiative was part of its strategy aiming at making Sharjah the environmental capital of the Middle East.

Recycling rates have been increasing every year, reaching 70 per cent in the first quarter this year, Mr. Al Huraimel said, adding that more than one million people used SEC’s services last year.
