"Arabs can survive only if they stop wars on heaven and manage their resources on earth," according to AFED Secretary General Najib Saab. In an interview with the Danish newspaper Politiken, published in the joint economy pages with Financial Times, Saab said that in spite of aridity and water scarcity, Arab countries can prosper and offer better quality of life for their citizens, if they manage their resources in a sustainable manner, and cooperate as a region, counting on the comparative advantages. The interview focused on the findings of the recent AFED report on Food Security, and recommendations to enhance food self-sufficiency.
