Upon the invitation of the Danish Prime Minister Mrs. Helle Thorning-Schmidt, AFED Secretary General participated in the annual Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) which convened in Copenhagen in October. Also present was editor of AFED's Green Economy report Hussein Abaza. Food Security and Sustainable Consumption and Production were main topics of the meeting. Saab presented an advance overview of AFED's report on Food Security in the Arab countries, and invited participants to AFED annual conference in Amman. Abaza discussed with delegates issues concerning sustainable consumption and production, in view of forging partnerships for the report on the subject which AFED plans to produce in 2015.
The fourth Global Green Growth Forum convening a select high-level group of 250-300 green growth leaders and decision-makers is taking place on 20-21 October. Participation is by personal invitation by the Prime Minister of Denmark only. The high-level leaders attending 3GF2014 from governments, cities and regions, business, finance, civil society and international organizations increasingly recognize that in order to grow our economy and go green at the same time you have to address the fundamental questions of how we will live our lives, where we will live and what we will live from?
