The much anticipated third Inter-College Environmental Public Speaking Competition (ICPSC) will be organized on October 28 and 29 said The Environment Society of Oman (ESO).
Organized in strategic partnership with Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), the third national edition of the ICPSC will offer 50 teams from 30 different universities and colleges across Oman the opportunity to express their understanding on a number of environmental best practices and current issues.
Student presentations will demonstrate a range of subjects including 'Who is responsible for food wastage?', 'How can a curriculum protect our environment?', 'Green Economy: Commitment and Responsibility', and 'The more technology we develop, the more pollution we create'.
Her Highness Sayyida Tania Al Said, president of ESO, said, "Our youth will play an instrumental role in nation-building and conserving Oman's environment for future generations to enjoy. At this year's ICPSC, we aim to support the educational development of students while motivating them to consider the role they can have in raising awareness and inspiring others to improve their quality of life today without compromising tomorrow's future."
Jenan Alasfoor, ESO communications coordinator, said that the winning team will represent the Sultanate alongside students from other GCC countries at the Regional Competition that will be held in Dubai on November 26 and 27, 2014.
