GGC award for Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi 29/8/2014
Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi has become the latest luxury hotel in the UAE to be accredited with the internationally renowned Green Globe Certification (GGC) in recognition of its efforts toward achieving sustainability.

The hotel was awarded 85% in the initial GGC audit, which also praised the property for having a good sustainability management plan, an excellent health and safety system, effective waste reduction management and excellent training measures in place.

Jumeirah at Etihad Towers also scored on additional factors like effective communication to guests on water and energy saving measures at the hotel, environmental awareness, biodiversity, conservation and information regarding naturally protected areas nearby.

Commenting on the GGC accreditation, Doris Greif, general manager, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, said: "We are delighted to be accredited with this certificate which recognizes the concerted steps taken and the dedication both we as a property and Abu Dhabi as a destination have in providing luxury experiences that are responsible and sustainable.”

“Along with our long standing sponsorship and support for local hawksbill turtle rehabilitation and other environmental and social programmes, we acknowledge our role and responsibilities as a global citizen and will continue to contribute in making the world a better place wherever we can,” Greif added.

The hotel now joins a growing list of Jumeirah properties that have already gained the prestigious award for their commitment to the environment including Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah Emirates Towers and Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residences.
