AFED participated in a regional workshop on the implementation of Rio Principle 10 which was held in Amman on 12-13 May. Discussions mainly focused on the available laws and legislations in Arab countries that facilitate the access to information on environmental matters to the public. The meeting recommended implementation of policies that ensure better access to information, and highlighted the need for the public to know their rights and how to claim them through advocacy and legal channels. AFED was represented by Zaher Redwan, CEO of its NGO member Green Hand Organization of Lebanon.
