The Presidency for Meteorology and Environment Protection in Saudi Arabia has invited nominations for the Kingdom’s award for environmental management in its sixth cycle.
Sources at the general presidency said the award, which is held every two years for competition between Arab member states, aims to strengthen scientific research in the field of environmental management and encourage the private sector to use methods, practices and technologies to maintain the environment and limit the waste of natural resources.
The award aims to instill and adopt a wider concept of environmental management in the Arab World and establish sound environmental methods and principles in private and public sector establishments.
The award also aims to raise awareness among Arab countries about the role of sustainable development in achieving a high quality of life for Arab residents and providing future Arab generations with a clean environment.
Anyone interested in environmental management is allowed to compete, whether individuals, groups, organizations, companies, commissions or charities from either government or private or nonprofit organizations.
