The water and environment ministers from nearly 22 countries in the Middle East and North African countries, along with experts and decision makers from the industry, will discuss innovative solutions for water-related issues and challenges at the 2nd Arab Water Conference & Exhibition 2014 from May 27 to 29.
The event, under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, will be hosted by Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) in cooperation with Arab Water Council.
The second edition of the conference, titled ‘Towards smart management for the water sector in the Arab region through innovative and sustainable solutions to face rising challenges’ will be held in Sheraton Resort and Convention, Qatar.
With water conservation becoming increasingly important in the region, the conference will provide a platform to help reach a common understanding of what is required to address scarcity and methods of sustainable management of resources.
The forum will provide an opportunity to coordinate among countries and unify efforts to face challenges related to Arab water rights.
Participants will have the opportunity to exchange expertise in methods and modern techniques used in planning and national strategies in the medium and long term in the field of water management.
They will also discuss how to enhance the ideology of water security in Arab countries to serve their development demands.
