Dubai leg of Waste Free Environment campaign 21/2/2014
The Dubai leg of the GCC-wide Waste Free Environment campaign took place on Thursday.

Dr. Rashid bin Fahad, the Minister of Environment and Water, opened the event at Al Hamriya Port.

The second edition of WFE took place in eight other cities across the GCC.

Last year more than 2,500 volunteers, across six GCC cities, collected 10,000 kilograms of waste.

“Since sustainability is a key component of the UAE’s vision for the future, conservation of the environment is a crucial step in ensuring the country’s future,” said Dr. bin Fahad. “Community awareness campaigns, such as this one, are tangible examples of collaborative efforts between corporations and the community that can bring about positive changes.”
